Booking and Cancellation Terms

Booking and Cancellation Terms
Cancellations are regrettable for everyone involved – for you, for us, and for other guests who may have wished to book the accommodation. Nevertheless, circumstances may arise that prevent a trip from going ahead as planned.

Cancellation of a Booking
Cancellations must be submitted in text form, for example by email. The date on which we receive your cancellation determines whether the applicable cancellation deadline has been met.
Please send your cancellation preferably to info@zechmeisterlehen.de. For reasons of documentation, cancellations made by telephone cannot be accepted.

Cancellation up to 35 Days before Arrival
For cancellations received up to 35 days before the scheduled arrival date, we charge a flat processing fee of €50 per booking. The guest remains entitled to provide evidence that we incurred no costs or substantially lower costs.

Cancellation Charges within 34 Days before Arrival
For cancellations received within 34 days before the scheduled arrival date, the following cancellation charges apply:

Period before arrival Cancellation charge
34 to 28 days 50 % of the agreed total price*
27 to 15 days 60 % of the agreed total price*
14 to 7 days 70 % of the agreed total price*
6 to 1 day 80 % of the agreed total price*
Day of arrival or no-show 90 % of the agreed total price*

Any revenue received from re-letting the accommodation, either in full or in part, will of course be credited against the cancellation charges. The guest remains entitled to provide evidence that we incurred no loss or a substantially lower loss.

Shortening the Stay before Arrival
If the booked stay is shortened before arrival, the nights that are no longer required will be treated as a partial cancellation. The applicable cancellation charges for these nights will be determined according to the date on which we receive notification of the change.

Shortening the Stay after Arrival
If the guest arrives after the agreed arrival date or ends the stay early after arrival, we will charge 90% of the agreed price attributable to the unused accommodation services, provided that we are unable to re-let the accommodation. The guest remains entitled to provide evidence that no claim or a substantially lower claim has arisen.

Christmas and New Year Period (19 December – 31 December)
Different cancellation terms apply to bookings with an agreed arrival date between 19 December and 31 December. Free cancellation is not available during this period. In the event of a cancellation, we charge 80% of the agreed total price*.

Any revenue received from re-letting the accommodation, either in full or in part, will be credited against the cancellation charges. The guest remains entitled to provide evidence that no claim or a substantially lower claim has arisen.

Group Bookings and Tour Operators
Different cancellation terms apply to tour operators and to bookings of three or more rooms. In the event of a cancellation, we charge 80% of the agreed total price*, irrespective of when the cancellation is made. Any revenue received from re-letting the accommodation, either in full or in part, will be credited against the cancellation charges. If a room is occupied by fewer persons than originally booked, the agreed room price will be charged. The guest remains entitled to provide evidence that no claim or a substantially lower claim has arisen.

Reduced Occupancy
If a room is occupied by fewer persons than originally booked, the agreed room price will be charged.

Our Recommendation
Unexpected events such as illness or an accident can occur at any time. We therefore recommend taking out travel cancellation insurance to protect yourself financially in the event that you have to cancel your stay.

No Statutory Right of Withdrawal
There is no statutory right of withdrawal for accommodation contracts that provide for a specific date or period of stay. The agreed cancellation terms remain unaffected.

Place of Jurisdiction
German law applies. If the contractual partner is a merchant or a legal entity under public law, the exclusive place of jurisdiction shall be Laufen, Germany. The same shall apply, to the extent permitted by law, to contractual partners who do not have their place of residence or registered office in a Member State of the European Union. Mandatory consumer protection provisions remain unaffected.

Arrival
Your room will be available from 2:30 p.m. If you are unable to arrive in time for dinner, which is served between 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., please let us know before 8:00 p.m.

Departure
We kindly ask you to vacate your room by 11:00 a.m. If the room is not vacated by this time or is returned late, we reserve the right to apply an additional charge.

Minimum Stay and Minimum Occupancy
We kindly ask for your understanding that minimum-stay requirements apply on certain dates. During school holiday periods and from June to October, family rooms and family suites are charged on the basis of a minimum occupancy of three persons, irrespective of the actual number of guests staying in the room.

Payment
Drinks, beauty treatments and other additional services may be charged to your room account during your stay and paid together with your final bill at check-out. We accept cash and Girocard payments. A record of the drinks and other services charged to your room is available from the restaurant. Unless otherwise agreed in your offer or booking confirmation, the outstanding balance is due no later than upon departure.

* The basis for calculating the cancellation charge is the agreed total price of the cancelled accommodation services, including any agreed catering or meal arrangements. Tourist tax and separately itemised services that are not incurred as a result of the cancellation are not included. Any revenue received from re-letting the accommodation, either in full or in part, for the same period will be credited against the cancellation charges. The guest remains entitled to provide evidence that no claim or a substantially lower claim has arisen.
